Cowboy Princess Brigade is an Americana-soul band from Cleveland, OH. The six piece ensemble began during the spring of 2024 and quickly thereafter released their first EP, “Rolling Up Silver”. Brought together by the vibrant local jam scene and a shared passion for shenanigans, the group became fast friends and musical cohorts.
The group brings a unique style and flair to the stage, featuring complex yet surprisingly fluid instrumentation. They include guitar, ukulele, fiddle, trombone, banjo, bass, and drums as well as featured dancers and performers. This eclectic combination makes a visually interesting and acoustically dynamic band that is distinctively their own.
The group draws on a wide range of American musical influences, from jazz and bluegrass to rock and roll. Deeply rooted in the spirit of improvisation and inspired by the rich traditions of New Orleans jazz, their sound is spontaneous and ever evolving. No two shows are the same.
With fast driving train beats and evocative poetry informed by Wille Nelson, John Hartford, and the good ole Grateful Dead; Cowboy Princess Brigade navigates a musical soundscape grounded in “hillbilly music” or what is now known as bluegrass/country. Incorporating elements of rocksteady and funk, reminiscent of acts like Amy Winehouse and The Specials, as well as the infectious grooves of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, their original music is familiar and refreshingly unique.
In addition, each member is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, adding depth and individuality to their distinctive sound.
Throughout 2025, they are featured on many stages and festivals throughout northeast Ohio including Brite Winter, Taste of Tremont, Starwood Music Festival, Riverside Cemetery Music and Arts Festival, Cleveland Pagan Pride, and Wild Maple Music Festival.
They are currently working on their third studio EP with Signal Flow Studios and are celebrating the release of their second EP “Nuggets of Gold”
